Botanical Bliss Trio

For my July Stamp Club I decided to introduce to my ladies the Botanical Bliss bundle. I was a bit stretched for time, so I decided to CASe the Catty with the tag as I really love the use of the Crumb Cake and the Wood Textures DSP, and the pop of colour is the Blackberry Bliss ribbon, which is retired but I am still building up my stock of the new colour ribbons so it was a good opportunity to use up this one.

Number 2 in the trio is a card using the same colours as the tag, and I also introduced the new Petal Pink from the Subtles Collection, with the Crumb Cake Card front embossed using one of the Petal Pair embossing folders. The base card colour is Soft Suede.

Number 3 in the trio is an easel card - I love how this turned out! I borrowed the stem framelit from the Petals and More set to add a little bit of texture to the top and bottom of the tag front of the card. Sadly, I used up the last of the retired Blackberry Bliss ribbon - but a good excuse to order some of the new colours!

Retro Flourishing Phrases

I confess I have been struggling a bit lately with the loss of my creative mojo. Looking back on what used to inspire me I remember when I used to deliver mail in the CBD of Albany where I live, and I would get excited seeing a colour combination in a dress in a shop window which I could easily convert to Stampin' Up! colours! Even more exciting was being able to match the pattern to a particular Stampin' Up! stamp set! My creative mind would be ticking over on how I could apply that to stamps, ink and paper! I would then rush home after my daily job was done and set to work in my craft room. I miss those days - having the time to create and the inspiration I gained from seeing colours and patterns in the shop windows.

Well, I am now having a go at getting that inspiration back again!
A few weekends ago I visited the 3 in 1 Markets at Claremont Showgrounds. I hadn't been for several years, and thoroughly enjoyed looking at the craft, antiques and vintage wares. I was excited to buy a few Johnson plates to add to my daughter's collection, and so I decided to use the colour combination and pattern on this plate for my inspiration. .

The Stampin' Up! colours I decided to use are Old Olive, Early Espresso, Mango Melody and Soft Suede, and the stamp set is Flourishing Phrases with the coordinating framelits which I used for the leaves. The flowers are fussy cut.
(Thank you, Clare! x)

Delightfully Detailed - Licorice Allsorts Card

I haven't totally been idle with my Stampin' Up! business! In April of this year I was privileged to share a Product Spotlight showcasing the lovely Delightfully Detailed Product Suite at OnStage in Perth. This was one of the samples I made using the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper in the suite. I used a variety of punch sizes to punch out cardstock for the circles, and carefully used the Fine Tip Glue to adhere them behind the DSP. The wording is from the Detailed With Love stamp set. I refer to this as my Licorice Allsorts card!

A New Blog, A New Start

Hi there! Welcome to my new blog! As my blog title states, a new blog, a new start.....
Ok, so you thought I had vanished off the face of the earth, well I am still here, and still a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! Life got a little busier for me and I realised I hadn't blogged in over a year! I also realised I miss the excitement of blogging and sharing my new stamping creations with you! My previous blog at www.cathyclark.com.au was a little tedious to use and so, with much deliberation, I have decided to simplify matters, so here I am! Unfortunately I am unable to export my old blog across to this one, but you are welcome to click on the link above and take a look, it will expire at the end of February next year. So now I'm starting afresh, and planning to commit to at least one post a week. I still have some work to do setting this one up, so you may see some changes along the way including a new Blog Header (this one's been around for a while now!) This may take a little time, as I also work full time, but ...."Bit by Bit" (my motto lately).... I'll get there!
